The “Dirty Thirty” Fortune 500 corporations paid no corporate income tax at all!
Big Oil Corporations like Exxon-Mobil, the most profitable corporation in the history of money,
get over $4 billion in annual subsidies
Verizon, with profits over $24 Billion in 2008-10, paid a real tax rate of 2.6%
GE, with profit $19.6 Billion in 2008-11,got $3.7 Billion BACK, or MINUS 19%
Millionaires and Billionaires with most of their income in the form of capital gains pay a lower tax rate than people whose income is for actual work.
Gov. Cuomo’s tax “reform” gave people making one million a year a real tax cut of $22,000, equal to the entire income of a worker making $11 an hour.
These giveaways to monied interests are paid for by the rest of us, in higher taxes and lower services, as teachers, nurses and firefighters are laid off. The 99% can’t afford big political contributions and lobbyists, but we can stand up and speak out.
