CAUCUS/WORKING GROUP REPORT BACKS
CIVIL LIBERTIES INITIATIVE: Went to NYC Stop # Frisk March and working on a candidates form re: NDAA
IT: Working on list-serves for working groups and email sign-ups.
DIRECT ACTION: Wednesday Marches will continue weekly. Meet Weds 7:45 PM Townsend Park. DA meets Weds 6:30 PM, 472 Madison. March routes will be discussed at this meeting.
EDUCATION: 4:30 PM today, Occupy the Media talk, Washington Park. July 6, 7PM : Occupy Farms talk.
MONEY OUT OF POLITICS: Meet 7/19 at Leslie and Tom’s house; will be entering data from sign-ups.
PROPOSALS:
Proposed: GA supports Housing WG’s efforts to remove current tenants and make clear that people are not there with support of OA’s Gen. Assembly.
Passed by consensus
OTHER BUSINESS:
Alice: Announced that Health Care Action will will meet at 12 PM of whatever day the Supreme Court’s decision on health care is handed down. Proposed: OA Gen Assbly endorse this action and single payer health insurance–Passed by consensus.
Trya/Elena: Propsed that she paint mural design on either inside wall or window of 472 Madison. If not mural/design could she paint walls another color? Passed around 2 possible designs she sketched. Outcome: Will gather more information and return to a future GA with a more specific proposal.
Elric: Reminded everyone of Ted Morgan’s talk and potluck picnic for Saturday (6/23) afternoon.
Colin: Reminded GA of ongoing plans for Public Access TV project(s).
