HOUSING Susan: Tale of Two Cities March set for Saturday, 6/9, March will start w/ 3 feeders starting from: Howe Library, Arbor Hill Library, Del. Ave Library and converging at statue of Moses in Washington Park. This Weds. will be flyering–meet at Soc Justice Ctr at 5PM. More prep work Fri Social Justice Center and may be phone calling at 7PM (subject to change; see Susan for details).
DEMOCRATIZE THE ECONOMY Jan: “Wash the Flag” demonstration at Federal Bldg in Albany on 6/15, 3PM. This is to draw attention to obstacles in job application process caused by corporations.
FINANCE Dan R.: We have approximately $11 thousand (clear) in our account. Finance WG meets 5 PM each Tuesday. Only people serious about giving time and energy to Finance WG should attend. Currently, there are no fundraising projects. Colin D. added that we need to give thought to whether we want to renew our lease which would likely be $800 mo for 6 months or $750 month for 3 mos.
DIRECT ACTION Geordie: Thurs there was a direct action at Sen Majority leader Dean Skelos’ office in support of a living wage and an increased minimum wage. Several people attended. 6 people arrested for occupying lobby of Skelos’ office
WORKING GROUP PROPOSALS
HOUSING Sue: Up to $100 for poster making and posting materials and granola bars and water for the Tale of Two Cities March. PASSED BY CONSENSUS.
PR Daniel M: Up to $100 to purchase 2 batteries to charge live stream equipment and phones so as to keep both functional at actions. PASSED BY CONSENSUS.+-5

Dan R: Mentioned we needed to get an estimate on fixing cracked front window and a financial outlay will be needed for this purpose. Tabled until estimate can be gotten.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Frances stated that Shane Claibourne, an author who promotes radical simplicity, will be speaking in Albany on June 22 and 23. See Frances for more details.
Grace has been speaking at Common Council meetings about relating conditions in Albany to colonialism around the world. Encourages more people to take part. Also, working on a coalition effort for a disabilites conference–See Grace for more details.
Sue is member of Albany Labor Council wants to bring up minimum wage initiative at council meetings. It was suggested Council check OA calendar for more details
Joe announced Socialist WG meets at indoor space tomorrow 6/3 at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to attend. June 17: March in NYC against stop and frisk policy and other racial profiling. Said it would be nice if we had an OA banner at this rally. Tues June 19: Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace will hold a meeting at Bethlehem Town Hall 7:00 PM at which panel of persons who were at Chicago NATO/G8 demonstrations will talk about their experiences.
Dennis K. said we will be have an outreach meeting Wednesday, 6/6, 6PM at indoor space to discuss what OA role(s) OA would like to play on new citizen access (channel 18) in Albany. “How to” classes being held for free at St. Rose college go to www.strose.edu for details or see Dennis.
Veronica stated that Albany D.A. David Soares will kick off his re-election campaign with a press conference at Academy Park this Monday at 11 AM, (will include a tent permit).
